Board - Winter Party

The winter party usually takes place on the last Friday before the holiday break, starting during the divided lunch time (11:00 – 12:00) and then up to each classroom after lunch (12:00 – 12:30). Around 3-4 party volunteers are needed per homeroom class.

One parent volunteer per homeroom should be assigned to help distribute pizza. These assigned volunteers should arrive by 10:45 to plate the pizza. The remaining homeroom volunteers can arrive prior to classroom party time.

PTO provides 1 slice of cheese pizza and 1 nut-free mini cupcake to all kindergartners (NOT pre-k)

Pizza should be ordered at least 1 week ahead of time! Typically the pizza and tip is paid for out of pocket and reimbursed by the PTO. Save all receipts and submit to the PTO!

Nonno’s pizza has been a favorite because:

  • They provide enough plates and napkins for all kindergartners!
  • Nice discount for our school! Only $13 per 18” cheese pizza!
  • They deliver! Have them arrive by 10:45.

When ordering, be sure to get a kindergarten headcount from Hope Witt so you know how much to order. In the past we’ve ordered approximately 19 pizzas (18” size, cut into 12 triangle slices).

BE SURE TO CALL YOUR PIZZA VENDOR AND CONFIRM DETAILS AND DELIVERY A FEW DAYS AHEAD OF TIME!

Any leftover pizza can go to the staff or volunteers.

NutPhree brand mini cupcakes have been purchased from Mariano’s/Jewel in the past. They are peanut and tree nut free.

Cupcakes are typically purchased out of pocket and reimbursed by the PTO. Save all receipts and submit to the PTO!

If there are kindergartners who will not be eating pizza, they can of course bring their normal lunches from home. There will be no pizza-alternatives provided by the PTO.

Usually, a special guest reader of “The Grinch” during lunch!

After lunch, 20-30 minute party inside classroom with age-appropriate activities (crafts, games, etc...)

NO other treats of snacks allowed during party.

Optional: homeroom liaison can organize a class gift to the teacher and/or assistant. Regardless of who contributes to any group gifts, all students must be placed on any greeting cards to the teacher/assistant.
